In 1992 our founder and president Russell Taylor began BWC in what her refers to as "a little room in an old warehouse off Broad River Road." But Russell had a strong vision of a flooring business that would one day be an industry leader. Today our fully-staffed and modern Columbia office serves as corporate headquarters for Builders Wholesale Carpet and is also home for BWC's Columbia branch offices.

Columbia, SC
Our Columbia branch is managed by Mike Johnson, who has eight years of experience in the floor covering industry and construction business. Out of this location, full-time schedulers, warranty and service technicians, and an estimator with a fleet of Nextel-equipped vans serve many of the finest home builders in the country. These customers include D.R. Horton Homes, Colony Homes, Essex Homes, Rex Thompson Builders, Sendler Homes, The Mungo Company, Premier Homes, Pat Dunbar Builders, and McGuinn Custom Homes. A new feature of the Columbia location is our on-site design center staffed by two full-time design professionals.

Hilton Head, SC
BWC opened our Hilton Head office in 1995, primarily to serve the new Del Webb community building project. Jim Petersen, our Hilton Head branch manager, has a rich background in the residential construction business and also oversees our Savannah, Georgia operation from this location. The full-time staff at our Hilton Head office includes an experienced designer in the beautiful new showroom and serves a rapidly growing list of customers, among them Centex Homes, D. R. Horton Homes, KB Homes, Del Webb's Sun City, and, in Savannah, Genesis Homes, D. R. Horton Homes, and Beazer Homes.

Charleston, SC
Our Charleston branch office opened in 2000 and is managed by Kenny Wagster whose wealth of experience dates from before he became BWC's first employee in 1992. From the Charleston office a full staff handles new construction flooring for clients which include D.R. Horton Homes, Centex Homes, John Wieland Homes, Harbor Homes, and BFH Builders. This branch is in the process of building new offices, warehouse facilities, and a design center to better serve our builders.

Greenville/Spartanburg, SC
Greenville/Spartanburg became the newest branch location for BWC in 2004, representing our expansion into the upstate of South Carolina. Our Columbia branch manager Mike Johnson is also in charge of the Greenville/Spartanburg branch. BWC employees and management look forward to providing easy-access service for our upstate builder customers.
